Standard ratio of equity (capital) and accepted liabilities of insurance organizations based on reporting in form 0420156 "Report on solvency"
The indicator of the standard ratio of own funds to accepted liabilities (the NS indicator) characterizes the sufficiency of the capital of an insurance organization to fulfill obligations even during periods of economic crisis. It is determined in accordance with the Bank of Russia Regulation dated November 16, 2021 No.
The value of the NS indicator should not be less than 1.00. A lower value does not indicate that the company is unable to fulfill its obligations, but indicates the likelihood of problems with this in a crisis. To eliminate this risk, the company is obliged to bring the value of the NS indicator into compliance with the requirements of the legislation.
The list of values of the NS indicator is given based on the data of the insurers' reports in the form 0420156 "Report on solvency". This information is not an assessment of the reliability of insurance companies, but serves as one of the indicators reflecting their financial stability and solvency. Consumers can take it into account, along with other parameters, when purchasing insurance services, and experts, analysts and investors - when assessing a financial institution.
The values of the NS indicator are published monthly – within two months after the reporting date; at the end of the reporting year – within three months after the reporting date.
The publication of the indicator is not carried out with respect to new market participants - insurance organizations, on the date of preparation of the reports of which less than three months have passed since the receipt of licenses for carrying out insurance activities, as well as with respect to insurance organizations for which, on the date of publication of the NS indicator, all licenses for carrying out insurance activities have been revoked.
